Chops Wrestling Meet/Sandy's 50th

Yesterday Sara and I had a little date which started with going to support Chop at his wrestling meet - he is an assistant coach at the middle school he teaches at. Next year he will be the head coach! We will definitely have to continue to attend and cheer on his school.

After the meet we grabbed lunch and met Beck and her family to watch her try on wedding gowns. I couldn't believe how packed places were until we realized that most of the girls there were trying on prom dresses. Saying 'yes to the dress' is certainly an experience everyone should have but with all of the people at the stores, it was crowded and hard to have your time. I was glad I got to go and at least see what she was envisioning - Beck will be a beautiful bride :)

I was pretty lucky when it came to picking my dress. I knew I wanted something very original. My mom, sister and I went to 2 different bridal stores before I knew that what I was looking for wasn't going to come from a traditional bridal store. So instead we went to a local boutique in the Old Market that sells wedding dresses but usually only 2 or 3  at a time. When we saw the dress in the window, we all just knew that was a "Libby dress". Of course I had moments leading up to the wedding were I second guessed my decision but looking back I am sooo happy that I chose what I did and it fit the venue and the day perfectly.

Yesterday evening Greg and I attended Sandy Wagner's 50th Birthday Party. The Wagner's are like Greg and my second family. We celebrate birthdays and holidays with them, Steve sold us our house and Sandy even helped me with wedding stuff. Every summer we look forward to spending our weekends at the lakehouse relaxing and having a good time. I am so thankful to have them in our lives. Anyways, the party was a blast and it showed how many people love Sandy - the place was packed! We all dressed up and wore black and pearls. Greg even said 'I like dressing up, I wish we had more parties like this!'. Kaleigh and Ally also flew in from Washington for the event and Kristin came up to help babysit Henry and Wyatt. Even though I came home crampy and tired, I keep thinking about how much fun we had catching up with everyone and how lucky we are to be a part of the Wagner family.

Chop's team was in the black/orange..they came out placing 4th!
My sexy hubby and friend
Love these girlies...the only good pic of me from the night!
Greg managed to get me a piece of the cake :)

Our Little Dolly

When there are days that I am feeling uncomfortable, irritated and tired all I have to do is look at this picture to remind me that it is all worth it. Our sweet little dolly will be here before we know it and I can't wait to see that face in person and hold her in my arms.

38 Weeks

This Friday night is very surreal...I am writing my blog and Greg is working on his fish tank (this new obsession) as we listen to Bon Iver and enjoy each other's company. I have been so anxious this week about baby's arrival. We are almost there! Now it's just the waiting game. Greg's family has been texting asking how I'm feeling, my mom told me her bag is packed...everyone is getting excited!

At my doctor's appointment this week the doctor said I am still 2 centimeters dilated but now 85% effaced. Hopefully she isn't like Greg and wants to stay in there 2 weeks past her due date!! I was 2 weeks early so maybe she will be right in the middle. Baby has been making us laugh this week - we've noticed that when she's sleeping she sticks her little bottom out about as far as physically possible and crams her feet into my left side. My tummy is not so round anymore, but odd shaped since there is very limited space. I have also officially gained the 35 pounds that the doctor said I would gain and man do I feel like a house!

With spring so close to us, I have also found a new addiction that neither healthy nor shopping for post pregnancy clothes! It's become a strange addiction. Sometimes my mind seems to wonder and before I know it I am on all of my favorite clothing websites envisioning outfits which then leads me to making unnecessary purchases - especially because I have no idea what size I will wear after baby!? It definitely doesn't help that I am now at a point in my pregnancy that I have about 4 staple outfits that I feel comfortable in. With only a few weeks to go, I suppose things could be a lot worse :)

Happy (Late) Valentine's Day & (Late) Birthday!

I'll admit, I was a little bummed this past Valentines Day. Greg had to work his second job which meant I was home alone for the evening - booo! I know for some (well, most) people Valentines Day is just another corporate holiday but I actually do like to celebrate it. And although I didn't really get to do anything special with my hubby this year, we did get a few surprise Valentines in the mail! One from Greg's family, one from mine and one from Greg's grandparents! I love our families.

Yes, my mom did send those cheesy Valentines you hand out in the 3rd grade!

We also celebrated my birthday this weekend. No big deal just a few weeks late :) Greg and I went for a bite to eat at Cantina Laredo (I had the BEST virgin mango margarita) and then to see Cats at the Orpheum. We kept joking that I would probably go into labor during the show and thankfully I didn't. We thought the show was good, just not quite what we expected. For those that have interest in going, I'd advise you to read the synopsis first. We kept waiting for the show to pick up and it never really did. Oh well!

Greg's mom and sister also came for the weekend to spend time with us and to see my growing belly. I know what you are all thinking and NO I didn't take any pictures of myself! I have been refusing to take any which I know I will regret in the years to come. So for now, I will fill my blog with everything but pictures of me!

37 Weeks

I can't believe that I am already at 37 weeks. Baby could come at any time now! Lots of emotions are running through me right about now. We had our last birthing class on Monday and our instructor took us on the hospital tour. I couldn't help but be nervous about it all. I am such a wimp - how will I be able to do this?!

In celebration of hitting my 37 week mark, I decided to buy these for baby....

And these for mommy....

...and nothing yet for daddy :)

Our Weekend

Our weekend has consisted of a lot of relaxing! Very much something I have needed given the crazy work week. I have been desperately trying to finish up what I can at work before maternity leave starts. Since my plan is to work up until I go into labor it's hard to know when my last day really will be!

Given my last doctor's appointment I have been fretting about what needs to get done at work, around the house, etc. So Friday night Greg and I decided it was time to begin packing our bags for the hospital. We packed baby's bag a few weeks ago and what should have been a quick thing ended up taking 2 evenings. All of the new mommy questions kept popping up - What will the weather be like? If it's cold she'll need extra blankies and her fleece coverup! Should we bring her swaddle blankets? I want them to be washed and to match her outfits! How many hats should we bring and what about headbands?? The list goes on...I finally just put everything in her diaper bag and called it good.

I decided to get creative on Saturday and use up some leftover things we had in the fridge and ended up making berry cobbler. We kept one pan at our house and brought the other pan over to the Bernhardt's as a thanks for having us over Saturday evening. Michael & Erica Bernhard had their first baby, Ryker, on Labor Day last year and it was the only the 2nd time had got to see him. He was such a cutie and I love picking Erica's brain about baby stuff. She is a huge book junkie and I consider her the 'guru' when it comes to breastfeeding, bedtime, exercise, baby toys, etc.

And today? I have decided that it's necessary for me to savor these last few weekends all to myself, which means I stayed nestled in our bedroom until about noon before deciding it was time to get up and move around. There's nothing like a relaxing Sunday to get me ready for what lies ahead this week.

Bags ready for the hospital...check!

My berry cobbler baking. Tastes great when it's warm with some vanilla ice cream...just sayin!

Michael & Ryker playing with his Kindle. Such a smart little guy!

5 Years!

Today marks Greg and my 5 year anniversary of being together! Some days I feel like time has flown and then other days I feel like I have been with the guy for a decade. Funny how that works :)

I won't spend lots of time writing some sappy love post BUT I will say that life couldn't be much better without my husband by my side. No matter what the day brings, I know that when I come home from work I can count on a good laugh and a big kiss right when I walk in the door. Greg has always had a passion for life and a positive outlook on anything that crosses his path and that's why I love him like crazy! Here's to another amazing year, babe!

In other news, yesterday I had my 36-week doctor appointment. Doctor Scott said that I am already 2 centimeters dilated and 75% effaced!! That doesn't necessarily mean that baby could come early but it's a good indication of it. When I came home from yoga last night, Greg had the car seat buckled in the backseat and the stroller in the trunk. He is so excited to meet baby!

Blog Hiatus

I haven't posted a blog in almost 4 months...major fail on my part. Trust me, I had all the intentions to blog over the holidays but time just got away from me. Needless to say, we have been extremely busy in every aspect of our lives. I could probably write a short-fiction novel talking about what we've been up but it's so much more fun to show it through pictures:

What we've been up to:

The Blake's were married on November 4th! Greg was a groomsmen in the wedding and had a blast.
Who will ever forget Father Andy?!

Love this picture of the couple :)

Greg's 25th Birthday was November 8th and we celebrated with our typical happy hour at Old Chicago. What started as a few beers ended with nachos, pizzas, shots and.....

an impromptu game night at our new place!

I also gave Greg a guitar for his birthday. As you can tell by the photo, he was pretty stoked.  He is learning a few tunes AND attempting to sing along to them. I even found a few lyrics he wrote one day!

Thanksgiving in Tulsa - the weather was unbelievably beautiful. This was my "my normal clothes barely fit but I'm not ready to wear maternity clothes" stage.

The Haus ladies on Turkey Day!

Ugly Sweater Party 2011. The tradition of the 'awkward family photo' began 3 or 4 years ago when Sara & I thought it would be a good idea to find Christmas turtlenecks to wear to the bars. The four of us wore them out and took random/awkward pictures all night. Now it's a tradition to get a photo like this every Christmas. I know, we're strange. But that's just how we roll.

Our tradition - Greg putting the star on top of the Christmas tree. With our cathedral ceilings in the living room, I am hoping to get a big, full tree for next year :)

Christmas at the Richter's! Plenty for gifts for all!

Every year mom & dad give us an ornament - this year Jon got the National Lampoon's one. Classic.

New stockings to hang over our fireplace!

Everyone in their 'special spots'. I just like how my dad is wearing a scarf in this picture and Charlie is enjoying his special treat from Greg & I.

The Haus' come for New Years! Everyone was excited to see how much my belly
had grown since Thanksgiving.

The trip wouldn't be complete without playing some board games. Greg, of course, is trying to explain
the rules to everyone!

This is how the Haus boys rang in the new year - sitting in our hot tub with cigars and beer in hand.
Boys will be boys!

I celebrated my 26th birthday on January 26th - also known as my Golden Birthday! Last year I had visions of a themed party or something of sorts but being 8 months pregnant put a damper on that idea. However, the evening was still a great time! My friends Sara & Ellen set up a group dinner at Biaggi's with one rule: everyone had to wear gold in honor of my golden birthday. I loved it :)

Greg (with the help of his friend, Cole) painted the kitchen green AND the upstairs bathroom
a gray-ish neutral color.

Daddy is hanging baby's poms & pendants over her crib. I found a good tutorial on Pinterest for making the poms. They sure took a lot of time. My mom and I spent an entire night making just 2 of them.

Officially a blizzard....on the day of my baby shower.  February 4th was the scheduled date of my baby shower. Greg, my mom and I woke up at about 7:00AM to find the backyard covered in snow. With the brunch scheduled for 10:30 that morning, we knew that it would be dangerous for guests to travel. So we decided to postpone the shower until Sunday (which worked out fine). The three of us made the most of our snow day by catching up on TV shows and staying in our PJ's!

On February 2nd my office threw a Surprise Baby Shower for me! It was the coolest thing ever.
It was held in the Pasta Amore Party Room and boy did they spoil me and baby!

The cake was delicious - mmmm!
